Independent, Patriotic, Proud Indian!

The problems the country is facing including  poverty, corruption, this and that and of course the rotten politicians, are something everyone knows and i guess have discussed million times. And the question "Are we actually independent" is something i wouldn't wanna discuss about. My only point or question is, are we actually doing anything to change the saddened scenario? Well its a blunt NO! The blame game is running for quite a long time now, but that's the only thing happening from the aam janata's end.

Why isnt anyone taking an initiative is again a controversial thingy. Well,to talk on that, someone named Aamir Khan the superstar and the StarPlus people took an  effort to atleast spread the awareness on certain things which even the ordinary people like you and me can contribute on and make the place worth living. Some supported but then, there was no visible change. And some instead blamed and  questioned the actor and the channel for making such  a show. Well  jobless is the word! Whatever their intention be, the output from their end was appreciable, they made a superstar anchor, call it their strategy to make people watch it, aired it on various regional channels even. Everyone watched,  shared, praised and some blamed and that's thee end of the story. Haven't heard anyone talking about it or doing a good deed right after they wound it up. Sad!

Instead of blaming each other or the Government, have we actually done anything, a single effort atleast to make the place look better? We blame, and then leave the country complaining that it's not worth living,  but have we actually done atleast a bit of something from our side to make it the other way around? Why dont we realise that, this country, and its rotten situation, aren't we the one's who are responsible for it? All the corruption and other activities- who's doing it? Aliens?

Before blaming the Government, look at the luxuries it had given as and the way we take it. We are neither helping the Government do its part, hence we have no rights to blame it when it doesn't.

Those lil lil things that we can do is something that should come from inside. Like someone said if you really wanna see the world change, be the change! You've problems when the country is full of beggars, lots of child labour, molesting, rapes happening and what not! I mean, I'm not saying that these are great things, but then are we actually doing anything other than following TRPs !  If you really wanna be proud of your country and mean it when you say Incredible India instead of being sarcastic, there are a few things that can be done.
  •  Treat others well. Stop interfering into their lives.
  • Obey rules, well that can be done too if you want your neighbour to do that, nothing is impossible you see.
  • Respect women, children and the old.
  • If you are running some business, stop hiring children to work - chuck child labor. If you find a  physically fit guy begging, never feed him/her.
  • Passing comments and molesting women is not a National game.
  • If you think Indians are behind all the advancements in technology happening around the world, stop going to US or UK and work for your motherland.
  • Rules are not always right. If you really wanna break the rules, go ahead but for good.
  • Spitting on the road is not a cool thing, which is applicable to peeing as  well.
  • Throwing garbage on road side is neither a good thing.
  • If someone's representing our country for something, say cricket, and fails to win, stop  blaming. Remember it's just  a game and losing is a part of it.
  • Learn to appreciate than to blame.
  • The 'typical Indian mentality' that we talk about pointing fingers on others, is actually our problem. So chuck that as well.
These are just a few things I believe can be followed by anyone. There are a million other things too which you can do. Well, you know it better than i do!

India's about to witness another Independence day parade, flag hoisting and of course a SPEECH by our dear Prime Minister. Shops and stores already filled with tricolor goodies. It's India's 65th year of Independence and lots of preparations going on in and around the country to celebrate it. Well, celebration in the sense, on social media ofcourse!

Patriotic Indians manage to get quotes of those freedom fighters, share it on their profiles, change their display pictures, update about how lucky they are to be an Indian on this particular day. Not to miss out the budding, ace photographers who experiment on conceptual photography making their Facebook page worth sharing. (Okay, sorry, republic day is included as well in the list of days where you should be patriotic.) And other days, well, shouldn't we make the world realize that India is actually a pathetic country and to spread awareness of all the corruptions and anti-social activities happening in here, we MUST share things regarding to that, where else other than social media!

Patriotism according to me is not something that comes for a day or two. "Proud to be an Indian" comes out of everyone's mouth on these days and obviously when India wins a medal in Olympics or a cup in Cricket. Otherwise, we are ashamed.

That should be changed, and again, if each one of us really wanna change that, we should take the initiative and see the change happening! If you are really patriotic, show it in your deeds as well.. Just a small thing would do even.. Changing DP is no longer in !!

Taking a big step, which we  love to watch in movies, heroism  we call it is not a simple thing and involves lots of efforts and risk. And no one would love to take the headache. We all need a BATMAN to save the country, but what we don't realise is that Batman is actually Bruce Wayne, and even he had quoted, "Batman could be anybody. That was the point. ... A hero can be anyone." And in that case, well, you got my point!

Its not about the batman or being one. Its about doing our bit and once we follow that, no one can let the country down, not even its citizens!

Jai hind!!

Social Media Personality Syndrome

Many a time I've wondered about the way people are, especially when I've interacted with them or seen them interacting with others in real life as well as in virtual world called social media, mostly Facebook and Twitter. They post, they comment, tweet and retweet on things they wouldn't even dare to talk in public in real sometimes making me wonder which one is real! Mostly, following someone on these platforms, say, a friend's friend who's a very active person on any of these sites, who keeps on commenting random stuffs giving you an idea that they are supercool but once you meet them in person, you realise they are totally the other way around.

There are  people who appear so smart, intelligent, humorous, sensible blah blah blah but in real utterly stupid, for instance, your's truly! So the whole point is, are people truly double faced? (Forget about me, I admit I'm stupid, its  their problem that they take me wrong ;) ) So we were talking about being double faced.. or is it like everyone's playing the attention seeker? Personal branding you see! Or is it a syndrome which in my terms can be called as "social media personality syndrome" just like the multi personality syndrome? May be it is! OR the extreme chance, the limitations in the country where your freedom of expression is restricted and all you get is a chance to express via a virtual platform where  you  can take back your words with a  delete button unless someone takes a screenshot as evidence ;)

Anyway, whatever the reason be, its true that most of us want attention, especially when we see our peers getting it through the digital media and  we tend to prove we are not behind anyone by faking ourselves or showing what we actually are!

Bottom line : Everyone out there has a fake personality which  only people like Zuckerberg could bring out!
